By the roadside in front of Ohmika Shrine,there is the milestone built in 1771 by Chubei Izumiya,who opened the tree peony garden in Sukagawa,Fukushima.
On the monument engroved a statement that this is the place called Mikanohara, it ia 18cho(blocks) from here to Mizuki,this road is called Izumikawa line, indicating it leads to Izumi Shrine in Mizuki.
Formerly many travelers used to come and go along this line called
"Rikuzenhamakaido",it was really busy road as the main route to Ohshu(Michinoku)
